Carol Keiser
Carol Keiser, one of the original founders of the
Putney Craft Tour, is an exhibiting artist who paints
on both tile and canvas. Her work is rich in color
and joyful in content. After working for 15 years
in stoneware pottery, Carol decided to combine her
knowledge of ceramics with her love of painting
to create original handpainted tiles So,in 1985,
Carol wrote an essay about her desire to start a
tile business and won the opportunity from “New
Woman” magazine to attend business seminars
at AWED, (American Women’s Development Corp.)
in New York, where she received advice and encouragement
to start her business. |

Carol now divides her time between her studio in Putney,
Vt. where she produces her tiles and her studio in Mexico
where she paints.. The expressive use of color and line
are important elements in Carol’s work. In her
scenes of women, couples, still life’s, and landscapes,
Carol incorporates symbols such as mountains, water,
sun, moon, stars, ladders and sailboats to represent
the natural world and our connection to the divine.
Carol creates original murals for bathrooms, kitchens,
fireplaces and tabletops for her clients.

In 1993, Carol was invited to design
an ornament for the White House Christmas tree.
In 1994, one of her paintings was published in a

Public Radio fundraising. Carol has been included
in both “ Who’s Who of America”
