I take plant specimens from the woods, fields, ponds and gardens of Vermont
and preserve them to create one of a kind pieces of artwork. I travel to the
Alaskan tundra to collect tiny alpine flowers as well. These pieces are matted
in museum board and framed in cherry and bird's eye maple frames. A botany
student for years, I was scolded by my professors for playing with the specimens
too artistically. How could I help myself? Each piece shows the beauty, humor
and amazing biology of the plant world. The pieces have won awards at the
Philadelphia Flower Show, the St. Louis Art Fair and have appeared in numerous publications inclucing Yankee, Victoria and Vermont Life Magazines.
