“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” –Thomas Merton
From traveling the world to walking daily in the New England woods, I am continually inspired by the clarity and calm that comes from being present outdoors. I believe nature is an intrinsic connector of people and place and my work is meant to express that relationship. Wheel thrown, hand manipulated porcelain vessels are born through a dance of purpose and play. Organic textures and animal imagery are emphasized with oxides, a naturally occurring mineral abundant in the earth and the stars. This alchemical process produces practical, whimsical, spiritual clay pieces that are meant to feel good in your hands and your heart.
